Pre-Check In

Pre-Check In

Pre-Check In lets you check your family in for a service or class before you leave the house. When you arrive at church, you skip the line at the lobby tablet and just scan your QR code (or show your name to the volunteer) to print name tags and pickup labels.

When to Use Pre-Check In

Pre-Check In is most useful when:

  • You are bringing kids to a Sunday school class or kids' worship service.
  • You attend a service that uses check-in for security, attendance, or pickup labels.
  • You want to skip the lobby line on a busy weekend.

If your church does not use the check-in system at all, this page may not appear in your sidebar.

Opening Pre-Check In

  1. Log in to the Member Portal.
  2. Click Pre-Check In in the sidebar.

You will see a list of upcoming events or services that accept pre-check-in, along with each member of your household.

Checking Your Family In

  1. Choose the service or event you are attending from the list (for example, "10:00 am Sunday Service" or "Wednesday Kids Club").
  2. For each family member, tick the box next to their name to include them in the check-in.
  3. If a child has more than one possible class (for example, by age range), choose the correct class from the dropdown.
  4. Click Check In.

The portal generates a confirmation that includes:

  • The names of everyone you checked in
  • A unique QR code or pickup label number
  • A note for any children showing the class they are checked into and a matching pickup tag for their guardian

Save the QR code (screenshot it, or keep the page open) so you can show it on arrival.

When You Arrive at Church

  1. Walk in the main entrance.
  2. Show your QR code (or just give your name) at the check-in desk or self-serve kiosk.
  3. The volunteer prints name tags for kids and pickup labels for parents in seconds -- no need to type anything in.

Cancelling or Updating a Pre-Check In

If your plans change before you arrive:

  1. Open the Pre-Check In page again.
  2. Find the pending check-in for that service.
  3. Either uncheck the family members you no longer plan to bring (and click Update) or click Cancel Pre-Check In to remove it entirely.

Pending check-ins are normally cleared automatically after the service starts if you do not arrive.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does Pre-Check In actually count my family as present? A: Pre-Check In creates a pending check-in. You are only counted as fully present once you scan in or a volunteer confirms you on arrival -- this prevents accidental attendance counts when plans change.

Q: Can I pre-check in someone outside my family? A: No. Pre-Check In is limited to members of your household so that custody and pickup-tag rules stay correct.

Q: What if I check the wrong service? A: Just open Pre-Check In again before you arrive and select the correct service. The new selection replaces the old one.

Q: My child does not appear in the list. What now? A: Make sure your child has been added to your household on the My Family page (see 03-family-management.md). If they are listed there but still missing from Pre-Check In, contact your church office -- they may need to enable your child for the kids check-in system.
