How long does the shareable "update your profile" link stay active?
When I copy a member's profile-edit link to share with them, how long is it valid, and who can use it?
- The link stays active for 14 days from when you create it. After that it stops working automatically.
- It's a secure signed link -- the signature is tied to your account's secret key, so it can't be faked, edited, or extended.
- No login is required. Anyone who has the full link can open that one member's profile-edit form until it expires. It only ever edits that single person in your church -- but for that reason, share it directly with the member and don't post it publicly.
- The link can't be switched off individually before it expires. If you shared it by mistake, the simplest fix is to let it lapse (14 days). Creating a new link does not disable older ones.
