Exporting Charts and Slides

TimelyChurch can turn any song into a printable chart or a set of projection slides. The Export ▾ menu on the song detail page (and in the Chord Chart Editor) offers print-ready PDFs for musicians and lyric slides for your projection software -- ProPresenter, PowerPoint, and beyond.

Where to Export

Open the Export ▾ menu from either:

• The song detail page in the Song Library (the header button), or
• The Chord Chart Editor toolbar.

Both carry the current arrangement and key into the export, so transpose to the key you want first.

PDF -- for Musicians

The PDF options produce a print-ready chord chart:

• Chord Chart (Current Key) -- The full chart in the selected key.
• Lyrics Only -- Lyrics with no chords.
• Nashville Numbers -- The chart in Nashville-number notation.

Every chord-chart PDF is US Letter, portrait, in a readable print font. A Layout selector in the editor lets you choose Auto (the system decides one or two columns based on how much fits), 1 column, or 2 columns before you export -- Auto is the safest default since it never lets a long line split awkwardly between columns. Use Open PDF Preview in the editor to view it in a new tab, in your chosen layout, before downloading. For details on the editor itself, see Chord Charts and Key Transposition.

Text -- for ProPresenter and Other Slide Tools

The Text -- for ProPresenter & others option downloads a plain-text (.txt) file with the song's lyrics only, organized into slide groups -- one group per section, separated by a blank line:

Verse 1
Amazing grace how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me

Verse 2
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved

This is the universal slide-import path. In ProPresenter, use Import → Text and each blank-line-separated group becomes one slide. The same file imports cleanly into EasyWorship, Keynote, Proclaim, and most other presentation tools. The file is UTF-8, so accented characters and non-English lyrics come through correctly.

PowerPoint (.pptx) -- Ready-Made Slides

The PowerPoint (.pptx) option downloads finished lyric slides you can open directly in PowerPoint (or Keynote/Google Slides):

• Widescreen 16:9 with a dark slate background and large, bold, centered white text.
• One slide per section, and long sections are split automatically (about six lines per slide) so nothing overflows.
• Lyrics only -- no chords and no section labels on the congregation slide, so it is projection-ready as-is.
• An optional title slide with the song name and author.

Because the slides are generated from the song's chart, you get consistent, on-brand lyric slides in seconds without retyping anything.

Tip: The .txt export is best when your church already maintains templates in ProPresenter or EasyWorship; the .pptx export is best when you want finished slides with no extra setup.

Exporting a Whole Set

Chord-chart and slide exports are per song. To prepare an entire service, export each song from its detail page, or build the set in a Setlist and share it to My Stand so musicians read live on their devices instead of from printed charts.
