Viewing Giving History

Viewing Giving History

The My Giving page lets you view a complete record of your donations to the church. You can see individual contributions, year-to-date and lifetime totals, which funds your gifts were directed to, manage any recurring (automatic) giving, and download your year-end tax statements.

Accessing Your Giving History

  1. Log in to the Member Portal.
  2. In the sidebar, click My Giving.

Note: If you don't see My Giving in your portal sidebar, you may not be signed in to the right church portal, or your church may not have giving features turned on. Contact your church office if you expect to see it and don't.

Understanding the My Giving Page

Summary Cards

At the top of the page you'll see three summary cards:

  • Year-to-Date -- the sum of all donations you've made during the current calendar year. A quick snapshot of your giving for tax planning.
  • Lifetime Giving -- the total of every donation on record for you.
  • Total Donations -- the number of individual gifts in your history.

My Recurring Donations

If you have any active or past-due recurring gifts set up through the church's online giving, they appear in a My Recurring Donations section near the top of the page. Each recurring gift shows its amount, frequency, and the fund it supports, along with self-service buttons to Update Card or Cancel it. See Managing Recurring Giving below.

Donation History

Below the summary, your donations are listed in reverse chronological order (most recent first). On a computer this appears as a table; on a phone it appears as a stacked list. Each entry shows:

  • Date -- The date the donation was recorded.
  • Amount -- The total amount of the donation.
  • Fund -- The fund your gift was directed to (e.g., General Fund, Missions Fund, Building Fund). If a donation was split across multiple funds, each allocation is shown with its fund name and amount.
  • Type -- Whether the gift was One-time or Recurring. Recurring gifts also show their cadence (Weekly, Monthly, Yearly) and status (Active, Payment Failed, or Cancelled).
  • Method -- How the gift was given (for example, cash, check, or card).

Note: Refunded donations are not shown in your giving history, so your on-screen list matches your official tax statement.

The list is paginated, showing 20 donations per page. Use the page navigation at the bottom to view older donations.

How Donations Are Recorded

Donations displayed in your giving history come from a few sources:

  • In-person gifts -- Cash or check donations recorded by your church's finance team.
  • Online giving -- Donations you make through the church's online giving page. Card gifts given through Stripe typically appear automatically within a few minutes.
  • Recurring gifts -- Automatic donations on a weekly, monthly, or yearly schedule.

Note: If you believe an in-person or check donation is missing from your history, contact your church finance office -- only they can add or correct manually-recorded donation records.

Managing Recurring Giving

If you have one or more recurring (automatic) gifts, you can manage them yourself from the My Giving page -- no need to call the church office.

Updating Your Payment Method

If your card on file has expired or you want to switch cards:

  1. On the My Giving page, find the gift in the My Recurring Donations section and click Update Card (or use the Update Payment Method button near the page header).
  2. You'll be taken to a secure Stripe page to enter your new card details.

Note: If a recurring payment fails, that gift is flagged Payment Failed with a prompt to update your card so your giving can continue uninterrupted.

Cancelling a Recurring Gift

  1. Find the recurring gift in the My Recurring Donations section (or in the Actions column of the donation history table) and click Cancel.
  2. A confirmation box appears showing the amount and frequency of the gift. Click Yes, Cancel My Recurring Gift to confirm.

Cancelling stops all future scheduled donations for that gift. Gifts you've already made are unaffected, and you can start a new recurring gift at any time.

Using Giving History for Tax Purposes

Your giving history serves as a convenient reference for tax preparation:

  • The Year-to-Date card shows your cumulative giving for the current year.
  • Individual donation entries provide the date and amount of each contribution.
  • Fund allocations help you identify how each gift was designated (consult your tax advisor for specifics on deductibility).

Downloading Your Year-End Giving Statement

You can generate and download your own official giving statement directly from the portal -- no need to contact the church office:

  1. On the My Giving page, find the Tax Statements section.
  2. Each year that has at least one recorded gift appears as its own card -- statements are available for the current year and up to two prior years.
  3. Click the PDF button next to the year you need. Your browser will download a PDF formatted as an official year-end giving record.

The PDF is a year-end giving record suitable for tax preparation. If your tax preparer needs additional language or detail, contact your church office for a customized statement.
